yay for nursing our babies
flat head?
well, we have noticed that jack has been getting a bit of a flat head. hmm... to try to remedy this little problem, we have started to sit him up instead of lay him in his swing or on the floor. so, we pulled out the old exersaucer and purchased a bumbo. jack seriously loves the bumbo and will sit in it forever, and he has started to play with all his toys on the exersaucer. hopefully, these two things, mixed with some extra tummy time and a daily head massage, will prevent him from having to wear... 'the helmet'. only time will tell.

pizza... again
so, lawton has opened its own version of chuck e cheese or incredible pizza... it's called... laugh out loud pizza. ever since bryan told the girls about it, they have been asking when we were going. paul and his kids were planning on coming this past weekend, but due to some crazy weather in kansas, they had to postpone their trip. well, not only were the girls crushed that they couldn't see their cousins, they were pretty sad about not going to mt. scott either.... so we planned a trip to laugh out loud pizza. they had a great time! bryan took the girls around to play on the games and their fun jungle gym thing. i hung out with jack and watched mizzou lose to connecticut...
dentac birthday ball
so, it was time for another army ball. how fun. this one was much smaller than the meddac ball at christmas and only for the dentac. we had a fun time. bryan and cpt. michael hoffman were the mc's and they did a great job. they call themselves... 'hoffpool'... nice.

and here is laura furdek, me, and paige dahlke. this is our lovely book club... small numbers, but big time fun!

ah, the zoo
so, last week we went with some people from our ward to the oklahoma city zoo. what fun! the kids loved it and the weather was so nice. unfortunately, carting around 3 kids didn't allow me very many opportunities to take pictures... and i guess that is a good thing since the kids were not interested in taking pictures anyway. see below.

at least the animals were interested.

we did see the sea lion show, which the girls thought was entertaining and all in all, the trip to the zoo was a success. however, i think their favorite part was... playing on the big rock (i was taking raegan to the bathroom when the pictures were taken, but shoot yourself over to kim strupp's blog to see the pictures on the rock!)

happy birthday bryan!
yay! bryan turns 30 today! unfortunately, today his day will be spent at work... attending a ce class tonight... and on call. nice. well, at least we got to celebrate on saturday with his awesome chuck norris themed birthday party! (don't you love our shirts?) yes, we love chuck norris... just a few tidbits you may not have known about chuck norris.
*when chuck norris was born, the only person to cry was the doctor. never slap chuck norris.
*chuck norris' smile once brought a puppy back to life.
*chuck norris doesn't take showers. he takes blood baths.
*chuck norris' tears cure cancer. too bad he has never cried.
*chuck norris destroyed the periodic table because the only element he recognizes is the element of surprise.
*chuck norris does not need to mow his grass. he simply stares at it and dares it to grow.
*there is no use crying over spilled milk. unless it is chuck norris's milk. because then you are going to die.
*when the boogeyman goes to bed, he checks his closet for chuck norris.
*chuck norris doesn't sleep. he waits.

and this is how we spent our saturday afternoon...
it's finished... almost
at christmas, my dad and bryan began a project of making grace and raegan some bunk beds. my dad brought all the wood and materials, as well as the tools needed to get some bunk beds made.

they worked so hard to get the beds done and by the time their trip was over the beds were pretty much ready to be put together. bryan only had to do a few more things to get them ready to assemble. so, bryan has been working in his spare time to finish and about a month ago he got everything done. all we need to do was put a polyurethane varnish on the beds... the catch? for the varnish to set you need ideal weather... it had to be above 60 degrees and no wind. hmmm.... as most people in the lawton area know, in the winter when the weather gets above 60 degrees we also have high winds (20 - 30 mph) and fire danger. it is a rare day when the weather is warm and it's not windy. so we waited through a month of warm and windy days here and there. then, last tuesday, finally, it was in the 70s and no wind. luckily, bryan had been home sick that day (we were passing around the rota virus in our family) and i told him we had to get the beds done. and we did! yay!

so, when i say they are almost finished... we are still waiting for the stairs to be made (my dad is working on them in missouri) and the rails for the top bunk. so, grace and raegan are sleeping on the bottom bunk together. and all i can say is... they love them. around 7 at night grace will start to say that she wants to go to bed just so she can sleep in her new bed. thanks dad and bryan!

profile for jack horspool
um yeah... feel free to laugh so hard you cry
ok, i seriously, i thought this was just about one of the funniest clips from the office ever... i know this only will strike some of you as funny, so if you don't actually cry that's ok too...
what? they actually close ft. sill?
yes, they do. well, at least the dental clinic is closed when there is too much ice and snow. a couple days after our trip to missouri we got a little bit of weather... it got really icy on monday night and by the time tuesday morning rolled around, it was pretty bad, so bryan got to take the day off. how fun! the whole town pretty much shuts down with it snows or gets icy, so, we had a few days of fun with him home.
on thursday, we went with the dahlkes to go sledding at the church. we don't have any sleds, but they had the great idea of using laundry baskets. the girls had a blast. they wanted to stay forever...

and once again, jack missed all the action while he slept the day away...

missouri... 3 kids, one nannie, and 9 hours to go
a couple weekends ago, we decided on a quick trip to missouri... well, i guess you could say, i decided. bryan was leaving for a trip to the dental conference in dallas for 5 days, and rachel was visiting my parents in missouri, so i decided to drive up there with the kids. my mom called nannie and she wanted to go too, so she flew to oklahoma city and we drove there together. it was a great trip! the girls were awesome on the drive and jack pretty much just slept and ate. it was so fun to be able to spend that extra time with nannie. she is awesome!
we got to jeff city on wednesday night. rachel had been there since sunday and it was so good to see her and aurora and ty. danny made a short stop on his drive to georgia and so it was good to get everyone together. we had tons of fun partying with the frank family and just hanging out. but as it turns out, if bryan isn't there, i really don't take any pictures. what's up? so, the only time i pulled out the camera was to snap this too cute picture of my dad and jack...
mt. scott... part 2
ever since our first trip to mt. scott, grace has been begging us to go back. whenever we are on i-44 and driving past it, she will look out her window and say... there's mt. scott... can we go there today? too cute. so, we waited for the right time and the right weather and we took the trip. it was just as windy as before, but grace and raegan love it anyway.
where a kid can be a kid...
several weeks ago we took the kiddos to chuck e cheese. this was quite an adventure considering it was my first trip ever... that's right folks... i had never ever been to chuck e cheese. in that great city of jefferson where i grew up there was no chuck e cheese and as a result, we spent all of our birthdays at the roller rink (which i think is better anyway). the girls had a great time and played for hours. me and jack pretty much just hung out most of the time.

grace was excited to stand and have her picture taken with chuck e cheese, but raegan was truly terrified... she wanted nothing to do with him. i don't blame her... maybe we will plan her birthday parties for the roller rink too.
