it's a boy!
yay! last night, my mom, aaron, and i went with some very good friends, dwain and caroline roberts, to the hospital so dwain could do an ultrasound and we could see what the baby is. dwain is a radiologist and it was so nice of him to take us. and yes, it is definitely a boy. we are so excited and already have a name picked out... we've thought about boy names for the last 2 kids and we love the name jack. so, we will have a baby boy jack cayetano (his middle name was my grandfather's name) horspool.
grace is convince the baby is a girl, so hopefully the disappointment won't last too long. bryan is still in texas, so we called him on the phone while we were there and he thought it was going to be a girl, and when we told him it was a boy, he didn't believe us. but he is very excited. aaron told me before we went that he already knew it was going to be a boy, so of course, he was super excited... he thinks he needs another nephew.

tire swings... just enough to churn your tummy
the lake
aaron's good friend from byu, alayna, came to visit us from florida, so we headed down the lake of the ozarks for the week. the kids loved swimming at the pool, swimming on the lake, and riding on the boat.
shocker... this is the best picture we got of all the kids...

grace loved jumping off the edge of the pool and with the floaties on her arms, she was able to jump and swim whenever she wanted.

the pool had this built in fountain and the girls loved aaron to put them in the fountain and throw them over it.

grace, just takin' a breather...

independence day
for the fourth of july, we went downtown to watch the firework show they do on the missouri river. we met up with the roberts and had a blast. well, most of us. the fireworks were a little loud for raegan (especially after the lightning and thunder incident) and after a while she said she wanted to go home and get her blanket. that was after she tried to dig papa's eyes out while on his shoulders.
birthday, birthday, welcome to earth day...
for my birthday, we had a great time. we went to eat at madison's (my favorite restaurant) and came home to a delicious chez monet cake... complete with white fluff, fudge, and chocolate covered strawberries on top. yum. i love celebrating my birthday in missouri... if only bryan had been here to enjoy that scrumptious cake. here is a picture of me and the girls counting my birthday money. my dad bought me a little coin purse with the letter 'j' all over it and filled it with the new dollar coins. very cool.
she really is her mother's daughter
summer fun
the day bryan went to the airport, we went to tracy's to go swimming. grace had a blast on the slide!
playin' in a travellin' band
and man, were we travelling...
at the end of may, we successfully evacuated our home on bishop st. (we were so sad to leave!) the army came and packed us up and then we headed up to yucaipa to stay until bryan finished his requirements for graduation. it actually took him until around the 06th of june. we left yucaipa on the 07th, raegan's actual birthday (what fun for her) and drove to new mexico. we got to albuquerque late that night and spent saturday and sunday with nannie. we had a great time, and grace picked tons of cherries from nannie's cherry tree. they were so good! we left on monday around noon and headed to missouri. after a long drive, we got into jefferson city around 5 a.m. it was a super long drive, but the kids were amazing. they are such good travellers and it was a good trip.
once we got there, we had another party for raegan. she got her own little ice cream cake from cold stone (yum) and we got a little cake for grace too.

here is the last family picture we took before bryan left on the 12th for texas. unfortunately, bryan was being really lame and gave me bunny ears. yeah... nice.

raegan and ryan like to party
at the beginning of june, we had a joint birthday party for raegan and ryan at the horspool house. what a great time. we had cupcakes, a pinata, and presents.
here is grace's turn at the pinata.
raegan successfully blew out her candles this year and managed to devour her cupcake... or should i say, the frosting. once she had eaten all the frosting, she said she was done. yum!
happy birthday ryan (4) and raegan (2).
the show must go on...
sadly, it will go on without grace. on 29 may, grace had her last day of preschool with ms. barbara. what a great experience it was for her to attend preschool as a 3 year old. she learned so many new things and i am so grateful to ms. barbara for doing such a good job with her. grace made so many new friends and i know she misses them. here are grace and ms. barbara.

here is most of her class... left to right: andrea, bobby, hailey, analiesa, brandon, grace, grant, curren, jaxson, and noah.

and after class, grace and jaxson played around for a few minutes while alison, bryan, and i chatted. i know grace especially misses jax and we were so sad to leave. i hope that they will remember each other when they get together in the future!

medieval times
way back in may, we went with the thompson family to medieval times! bryan and nate had been talking about going after they graduated, so we finally went. it was a blast and the kids had a great time.

here are grace and paige and then all the girls... makayle, raegan, grace, and paige

that same day, we decided to head out to the huntington beach pier and eat at ruby's. raegan managed to eat almost an entire adult size shake on her own and the weather was crazy! very windy and rainy. that walk down the pier was horrid, but we did get to see the beach again!
