trip to alb... awesome...

so, we took a trip to new mexico. the last week in march was my mom's spring break from school, so her and my dad drove out to manhattan and then we all loaded up and took a trip to new mexico to visit nannie. it was great... bryan and papa did all the driving and me and nana sat in the back watching movies with grace, raegan, and jack. so, while we were there, we got to hang out with greg and nita as well as cody and jenny and aunt sassy-bo. plus, bonus, uncle mark flew down for the weekend. yay! we had a great time.

saturday before easter, i set up a nice little easter egg hunt in the back for the kids. i tried to make it easy enough for jack, but grace did not grasp the concept of letting jack and raegan find the eggs that were not so hidden... i think she is in her competitive stage. so, jack got a few eggs, and raegan got a few, and grace got most and had to share with the younger ones. it was so funny to see jack looking for the eggs... he would get pretty excited about putting them in his bag.

don't you just love the pictures where you are hugging you kids and they just can't wait to get away? me too.

at least they like to hug each other...

well, and this ones for the birds... apparently, without photoshopping heads, i can't get all three of my kids to smile in a picture.

but... i just love my family!

easter egg hunt at k-state

the week before easter, k-state held an easter egg hunt. grace got a flyer for it at school and begged us to go. well, it was raining buckets that morning so instead of an egg hunt, they just handed out bags filled with eggs. nice. we did get some photos of grace with willie the wildcat... surprisingly scary (that head is just too big)... and the easter bunny... psycho scary... no wonder raegan was too afraid to take any pictures. at least she enjoyed the candy.

31...

well, along with my lame attempt to blog comes the lamest birthday cake i have ever made. from a box and in a 9 x 13 pan. sorry bryan, 3 kids just really makes me busy. maybe i need better time management.

well, happy 31 to bryan. another year older... another birthday... another step towards less situps, less push ups, and a slower 2 mile time for the army's pt test. hooah.

pre-birthday lunch

i think i used to be so much better at blogging... now i feel i have no time and it just all gets summed up into the title and a few words in the post... oh well, at least it is getting blogged about at all. hmm... perhaps i should take a note from rachel's book and begin shutting down now... well, until then, i will continue with the lame blogging that has become my life.

the week that bryan's family came, we we out to olathe to visit paul and natalie and their family. bryan wanted to spend the day visiting some church history sights, but to start off, we headed to a great bbq place for a delicious family birthday lunch for bryan. yay! byu was playing in the background, good eats, family, and then visiting independence and liberty jail... really not too shabby!

visited

well, matt came home from his mission in december... and man were we sad that we weren't able to take our trip to california to see him. boo. so, we invited him out for a visit... along came mom horspool and brinley. we had such a great time visiting with them and spending time together. brinley was awesome. grace and raegan had such a fun time with her and i am so glad she came along for the ride. of course, it is always great to see grandma. the girls have been asking ever since when we will get to go to her house. and uncle matt... he has a beard. that is the comment that i hear the most about uncle matt. we are so glad that they came and visited. it is about time that jack met his cool uncle.

finished: ragged squares quilt for grandma kathy

yes, after months and months of work and stress, i have finally finished the quilt to give to bryan's mom for christmas. is it really april? well, i guess technically i finished it in march, so ha!
